Minnesota high school sophomore Jarvis Thomas has received the first Division I scholarship offer and it comes courtesy of Linc Darner and the Green Bay Phoenix.
The 6’7” forward from Tartan High School in Oakdale, Minnesota was extended a scholarship offer after his team’s 76-62 victory over North St. Paul on Tuesday night. Thomas led his team in scoring with 17 points in the winning effort.
“2yrs ago I didn't think this was possible,” Thomas tweeted, “excited to announce my first D1 offer from Wisconsin Green Bay!”
He is currently third on his team in scoring this season as a sophomore averaging 10.5 points per game for his first place team. Tartan is 21-4 overall this season and 15-1 in the Metro East Conference.
While Green Bay is his first scholarship offer, he has been gaining interest from several programs including high majors. He has visited Wisconsin and Minnesota and, according to Rivals.com, also has interest from Baylor, Creighton, Iowa State, Marquette, and Nebraska.
The Phoenix have at least three scholarships available for the 2018 recruiting class and have extended scholarship offers to several players prep players in Wisconsin.
