With the regular season in the books, the seeding is all set for the 2nd edition of Motor City Madness at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

With the final weekend of the regular season upon us there is still plenty to play for in the Horizon League. All but bottom-dwelling Cleveland State and Youngstown State will play twice this weekend to sort out the final standings and the subsequent seeding at the conference tournament that go along with it.

Green Bay will face Illinois State in the NIT

The Green Bay Phoenix will take on Illinois State in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament on Wednesday night at Redbird Arena in Normal, IL.


The Redbirds (21-12) had won 6 straight games to end the season, including a victory over #8 ranked Wichita State, before falling to #11 Northern Iowa in the Missouri Valley Conference championship game.

For the third year in a row, the Green Bay Phoenix had their NCAA Tournament hopes dashed in devastating fashion at the Horizon League Tournament. And for the second time in three years, it happened in Valparaiso, Indiana.

The Green Bay Phoenix are just 2 wins shy of their first NCAA Tournament since 1996.


The Phoenix (23-7, 12-4) were able to clinch the #2 seed and a crucial double bye to the semi-finals of the Horizon League Tournament by virtue of their 83-63 victory over Oakland on Saturday afternoon at the Resch Center.
