Carrington Love shines in GB's upset at Miami

If the Green Bay Phoenix are going to reach the NCAA Tournament this season for the first time since 1996, they are going to need steady contributions from players not named Keifer Sykes.


On Saturday afternoon in Miami, Carrington Love was able to do that and then some, scoring a career high 20 points to go along with 9 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.

Without Sykes, season comes to an abrupt halt

Playing without star point guard Keifer Sykes, the Green Bay Phoenix fell to the Belmont Bruins, 80-65, in the first round of the NIT on Tuesday night in front of 2,770 at the Resch Center.

Horizon League champs!

The Green Bay Phoenix have won at least a share of the Horizon League regular season championship for the first time in 18 years.  Thursday's 67-53 defeat of the Valparaiso Crusaders also guarantees the Phoenix the #1 seed and a double-bye to the semifinals in the upcoming Horizon League Tournament.  The #1 seed means the tournament's quarterfinals and semifinals will be held at the Resch Center, along with the champi...

GB falls again at the ARC

Last season, it was the Valparaiso Crusaders who ended the Green Bay Phoenix season in heartbreaking fashion with a buzzer beater by Ryan Broekhoff in the Horizon League Tournament semi-final.  While Wednesday night's blowout loss at Valpo won't end the Phoenix season, it will significantly damage the already slim hopes for an at-large bid if Green Bay were to lose in the conference tournament.

Phoenix, Cougill spark win against Cowboys

After starting thegame with seven turnovers through the first 10 minutes and falling behind 12-19,the Green Bay Phoenix used a 13-2 run over the next six minutes to take thelead 25-21. The Phoenix was able to hang on to its lead in its win against the WyomingCowboys, 52-44, at the Resch Center on Saturday night.

Bench Lifts Phoenix in Season Opener

The Green Bay Phoenix opened its season opener against the University of Mary Marauders with a 17-0 run through the first 12:27 at the Resch Center. The Phoenix were able to ride its wave of momentum to a 94-55 win.  Sophomore center Alec Brown led theway scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in 19 minutes of play, while sophomore guard Terry Johnson contributed 15 points off the bench on 8-12 shooting.
